New Year’s Resolution: Healthy Weight Loss

Harvey Diomond Eat For Life

As 2011 races to an end, the beginning of 2012 is certain to herald many new resolutions from people across the United States and around the world to improve their daily lives. Often, one of the most popular resolutions for the New Year is to lose weight.

Enzymedica Exercise image2While you may currently be contemplating running to the sporting goods store to purchase a new exercise machine or a set of weights, you may wish to consider what weight loss will truly mean to you in the coming year. Will you have enough time to exercise regularly? Are you really going to sleep more, and eat better? How long can you keep those things up?

There may be another solution, however. Enzymes and other natural products may provide significant benefits in supporting healthy weight management.

The enzyme blend Glucoreductase™ has been shown to optimize sugar metabolism and help maintain normal blood sugar levels.i Glucoreductase converts sugars from carbohydrate digestion to form soluble fiber and as a result decreases the amount of potentially stored fat.* Also helpful is the Lipase Thera-blend enzymes, which may improve the proper metabolism of fat.

Gluten-free rice bran and superoxide dismutase (SOD) can additionally promote healthy detoxification, which may encourage a comfortable and mild cleanse.*

Walter Crinnion, a practicing Naturopathic physician and reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine was quoted as saying “Elevated levels of fat-soluble toxins have been associated with weight gain. Rice bran will help increase the amount of toxins we eliminate. The more toxins you encourage to leave your body, the easier it will be for your organs of elimination to do their job, and for your metabolism to burn stored fat for fuel.”

Research indicates that overweight individuals may have less Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), and experience oxidative stress due to excess body weight.iii, iv Made by the body and available in supplement form, SOD provides potent antioxidant defense against oxidative stress.

Consider looking into a supplement that includes those ingredients. Remember, the stress that will accompany deciphering a long instruction book to put together your new Weight-Loss-A-Matic exercise machine may not be conducive to weight-loss or your sanity. Enzymes and other natural product supplements may provide a much simpler approach for the coming year.

Enzymedica releases new, chewable, version of Acid Soothe

Enzymedica is pleased to announce a new product, Acid Sooth ™ Chewable.

Enzymedica is pleased to announce a new product, Acid Soothe™ Chewable. This product, as the name suggests, is a chewable version of Acid Soothe™ and comes in two flavors: chocolate mint and berry burst.

Like the encapsulated Acid Soothe formula, the new Chewable offers all natural support for occasional heartburn and indigestion. Acid Soothe utilizes plant-based enzymes to promote healthy digestion and works to soothe indigestion with ingredients such as zinc carnosine.

Zinc carnosine, a combination of the trace mineral zinc and L-carnosine, was shown in a recent clinical trial to improve and repair gut integrity with dosages of 37.5mg.i This ingredient is a potent antioxidant, and helps to soothe the digestive tract, while also strengthening the lining of the stomach and working as a buffer to gastric acid.*

Dr. Walter Crinnion, a naturopathic physician from Scottsdale, Arizona.“Acid Soothe Chewable does more than just address symptoms,” explains Dr. Walter Crinnion, a naturopathic physician from Scottsdale, Arizona.* “The formula contains natural digestive enzymes that work with your body to soothe indigestion and enhance your body’s natural digestive process.* Nutraceuticals are added to address more acute digestive distress.”

Dr. Crinnion Featured as Guest Blogger

The arrival of Spring reminds us all that allergy season is close behind.  Be sure to check out Dr. Walter Crinnion’s guest blog on the Natural Solutions Magazine website for some timely advice and a natural enzyme solution. Included in the article are specific opportunities to remove or reduce the sources of indoor air pollution, and  simple ideas on how to work internally to help reduce our propensity to become reactive.

Key Quotes:

While there are many nutritional solutions for indoor allergies, a noteworthy option is the protein digesting enzyme known as mucolase.  This specialized enzyme has been shown to support the immune system, targeting excessive mucus in the body to promote its breakdown.  In addition, some experts believe that an amylase enzyme blend on an empty stomach may help balance histamine, the body’s response to perceived allergens.

Support a healthy intestinal environment and digestion by taking a high quality comprehensive digestive enzyme. I recommend Enzymedica brand enzyme supplements, as their primary focus is enzymes.  Promoting proper digestion and elimination will dramatically reduce the amount of “antigens” and “endotoxins” in the bowel and blood. This will lower your total load of antigens and make your body less reactive.
