As We Age…

When I was younger I remember seeing my father play basketball with my brother several times a week. It was around the time that my brother starting showing his competitive side and my father had no problem showing him who was boss.

A few years down the line however, my brother would ask my father to join him in a little one-on-one to which he would refuse.  Why the change? My father explained, “I’m not as young as I used to be”.  What happened in those few years that seemed to turn him from energetic and enthusiastic into slow, tired, and deteriorating? It’s all in the science.

You see, as we age a drastic transformation is occurring in our bodies. Research has shown that the older we get, the less enzymes we produce. Although my fathers diet may not have changed, the enzyme protease that help to break down and utilize proteins are slowly diminishing, hence the decrease in muscle mass. F

or this reason, my mother and I have recently been encouraging my dad to take enzyme supplements high in protease along with other digestive enzymes and we are eager to see results

PREVENTION 101

I often hear that prevention is the best medicine. And while this is true, there is so much information and ideas on exactly what preventative measures can be taken to avoid certain illnesses and diseases. But with 39 subcategories of known diseases, how do you know which one to guard against and how? The answer is there is no way to know.

While you may not know, your body can detect viruses and threats to your health and it does its best to help get rid of it. This job is carried out by your immune system. When your immune system is strong, you are healthy. On the other hand, when your immune system is weak, you are in turn open and susceptible to many diseases, illnesses and ailments.

So the obvious answer then is to strengthen your immune system and encourage it to keep fighting. Proteases are crucial in this case. When supplemented, Protease has the ability to digest dead and damaged cells throughout the body. The proteases in the body are now available to assist in immune function. H

How else can you boost your immune system? Our bodies produce white blood cells. They are cells that form a component of the blood and help to defend the body against infectious disease and foreign materials as part of the immune system (1). As you may imagine, a deficiency in white blood cells may cause a threat to the body. Proteases also play a large role in this case. When consumed on an empty stomach, they can produce more white blood cells to support healthy immune function.

Virastop, produced by Enzymedica, contains 150,000 HUT of protease making it an ideal supplement for immune function support. ( or you can say, “An ideal enzyme supplement would contain about 150,000 HUT of Protease”)
